      *Aftercare available until 5:00 PM Extra $12.50/hour

Week 1:  Children of the Earth

Half Day:  Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM *BRING LUNCH (snacks are provided)

Description:

Climate change is considered one of our planets most discussed topic.  Come, as we learn about the Earth and how we can take care of it in this creative and fun summer camp.  We’ll plant seeds, examine the insect kingdom, learn about animals that are endangered through crafts, games, stories, feed live wiggly worms to learn about composting, sing and dance and we’ll recycle, re-use and reduce!

Week 2:  World Music & Art (Spain & Korea)

Half Day:  Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM *BRING LUNCH (snacks are provided)

Start Date: July 16-20

Description: Hola! We will be exploring the traditional melodies of Spanish Folk music and looking art from Spain.  Delve into the ancient culture of the Spanish people through traditional song games.  Anyoung haseyo! Come join the sounds of the drums as we take part in learning about Korea as we meet and dance, sing, socialize and honor this beautiful culture.  We will be listening and learning about Korean music & culture through song, games, and crafts.    summer2

Week 3:  Little Chefs

Half Day:  Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM *BRING LUNCH (snacks are provided)

Description: Healthy living starts with knowledge!  Join us as we learn about the 5 food groups through singing, story reading, games, and role-playing.  In this hands-on course, we will be making fruit smoothies, simple sandwiches, and snacks. Kitchen safety, learning how to clean-up after and eating our creations is all part of the fun in this educational and tasty week! List of ingredients used for the week will be notified.

Week 4:  Little Van Gogh (1853-1890) (Netherlands)/ Little Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) (USA)

Half Day:  Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM *BRING LUNCH (snacks are provided)  

Full Day:  Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM *BRING LUNCH (snacks are provided)

Start Date: July 30- August 3 

Ages: 3 yrs. – 9 yrs. (activities will be age appropriate)

Description: Time to get our brushes and canvases out.  Wear something comfortable and join us as we learn about: Van Gogh, Dutch painter, born in the Netherlands, known for a flat landscape of canals, tulip fields, windmills.   Jackson Pollock was an American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. He was well known for his unique style of drip painting. Please wear something that you won’t mind getting a bit messy! As you will be completing your own masterpieces in the styles of Van Gogh and Jackson Pollock to take home with you.

Week 5:  Superheroes!

Half Day:  Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM *BRING LUNCH (snacks are provided)

Start Date: August 13 – 17

Description: We will be having fun dressing-up in class to be our favorite Super Heroes~!  Not only fun to be superheroes, but we will be secretly helping others in the class to save the world.  We will be making our own drama scenarios and acts.

Week 6: Magical Movies!

Description: Do you love to watch movies with kids? We love movies! Good movies provide a lot of learning opportunities for kids and they can learn things they would not from other sources. In addition to watching the movies, there are a lot of simple things we can do to maximize the learning from them.  Join us, as we explore the magical wizarding world of Harry Potter through spells and making props and crafts.  Sing with us through the fields of Austria as we join Maria in the Sound of Music!
